The CONCEPT
The reasons for using DuroBOARD
aren’t just good ones – there are plenty of them as
well!
The RESULT True innovations don’t
just set new standards.
They also stick around for good! The intelligent combination of rigid, warp-proof LVL laminate
cores and wear-and-tear-resistant polyurethane surfaces is
what
makes the DuroBOARD unique. This production board provides the
user with visible advantages in the production of concrete
products, and is therefore more cost-effective than thermoplastic
synthetic boards. To choose DuroBOARD is therefore to choose
higher efficiency, consistent product quality and a rapid return
on investment.

The PRODUCT
An innovative product is more than
just the sum of its properties.
Dimensions and Weight
The DuroBOARD is available in all standard
dimensions and strengths. The strength
is identical with the same requirements,
and the weight with the same dimensions is only very slightly
higher than with a full wood board of equal dimensions.
The DuroBOARD is approx. 50% lighter
than a production board made completely
of thermoplastic synthetics. This yields
considerable transport cost savings with
delivery and makes handling in the
production process significantly easier. |
Logistics and Shipping
Loading the DuroBOARD into containers
or onto trucks takes place in the plant
terminal at the Andernach production
site. One of the most modern river boat
container harbors with a short route to
the international port in Rotterdam is
located in the immediate vicinity. These
ideal conditions and the cooperation with international logistics
companies enable globally rapid and cost-effective shipping. |
Recycling Obligation
Throughout all production stages, the
DuroBOARD was consistently developed
with the issue of environmental friendliness
in mind. Only fast-growing plantation wood
is used to produce the LVL laminate core, and
recyclable polyurethane. This environment-oriented
product philosophy is supplemented
by a special service offering, the ASSYX
obligation, which guarantees free-of-charge
return of DuroBOARD production boards
that can no longer be used for all DuroBOARD users with free-hauled
delivery. |

The PRODUCTION
Controlled processes and the most
modern technology for efficiency and quality in production.
Development of the DuroBOARD is the
result of intensive, objective-oriented
cooperation between specialists in poly-urethane
plastics technology, concrete
product production, synthetic systems
technology and wood processing. Extensive
tests were carried out in the technical
area of Bayer MaterialSience AG,
Leverkusen.
This know-how also accompanies the
production that is performed on the most
modern, high-performance systems in the
processing centers in the Andernach plant.
High-tech and automation in production
processes are indispensable in order to be
able to offer an innovative, cost-effective
product such as the DuroBOARD in inter-national
competition. The prefabricated LVL laminate cores are
checked before further processing as part
of a continuous quality control for rigidity
and dimensioning, while complying with the
lowest tolerance limits. The polyurethane
used for coating the LVL laminate core
is subjected to BAYER MaterialScience’s
strictest quality controls. The procedure
for homogeneous polyurethane coating,
which is patent-registered, guarantees the
dimensional accuracy of the DuroBOARD–
an important quality factor of decisive
significance in the production process of
concrete products.
