Air Circulation Systems

Air circulation is of the utmost importance in accelerated concrete curing systems. The circulation of air within the curing chamber maintains even temperatures and prevents hot and cold spots. Proper air circulation also prevents water drops on the concrete by reducing condensation and preventing moisture buildup.

Benefits of Air Circulation Systems

    1. Maintain consistent temperature in the curing chamber
    2. Reduce condensation
    3. Prevent water drops on concrete
    4. Increase ex-chamber concrete strength by 10% to 15% due to controlled drying
    5. Reduce condensation on floors and other curing area surfaces, preventing operating issues with transport equipment and improving safety

Types of Air Circulation Systems

    1. Axial Air Circulation
    2. Nautilus Radial Air Circulation

Axial Air Circulation

The Axial Air Circulation System is an economical solution for maintaining an even climate in small - to medium - size curing areas at lower curing temperatures.

Operating Features

  • Maximum curing temperature of 105°F (40°C)
  • Outputs range from 2,000cfm (3,500m3/h) to 6,500cfm (11,000m3/h) at 1/8” (30 Pa) static pressure
  • Maintains a constant temperature and humidity throughout the curing area when located correctly
Size based on chamber dimensions, temperature and relative humidity
  • Choice of system controls
        o Manual
        o Timer
o Automatic via integration in AutoCure™ automatic
           curing control system

Nautilus Radial Air Circulation

The Nautilus Radial Air Circulation System, an exclusive technology from Kraft Energy™, is a high-performance radial ventilator designed to meet the rugged demands of the concrete curing process in large chambers and higher temperatures.

Operating Features

  • Maximum curing temperature of 175°F (80°C)
  • Maximum relative humidity of 100%
  • Outputs range from 1,230cfm (2,100m3/h) to 18,800cfm (32,000m3/h) at 1/2” (100 Pa) static pressure
  • Optimum air circulation in large curing areas up to 26ft (8m) high and 115ft (35m) long
  • Ceiling mount aluminum frame supports the high-volume radial fan and direct-drive (coupling) externally mounted motor
