Concrete pipes, culverts
and manhole products can be made with either semi-dry or wet-cast
techniques - each providing its own unique set of benefits. Kraft Energy™ is proud to be an associate member of the both NPCA
(National Precast Concrete Products Association) and the ACPA (American
Concrete Pipe Association) – both promoting the benefits of
concrete pipe and precast products.
Kraft Energy™ supplies, installs and commissions complete curing
systems that will accelerate hardening and improve product quality.
Kraft Energy™ vapor curing systems include:
- Vapor generator
- Distribution pipe and hose
- Temperature and humidity measurement and control
- Curing tents and enclosures
Benefits of Vapor Curing Concrete Pipe,
Culvert and Manhole Products
In semi-dry production, vapor curing saves money
and improves product quality by:
- Preventing premature drying after demoulding, which causes
surface cracking, incomplete cement hydration and poor strength
- Providing higher early green strengths, resulting in reduced
breakage, increased productivity and a reduction in required
cement content
- Allowing concrete pipe to be handled in as little as eight
hours
- Allowing manholes and other smaller products to be handled
within four hours
In wet-cast production, vapor curing saves money
and improves product quality by:
- Allowing green strength to be reached more quickly, thus allowing
the product to be demoulded sooner (in as little as 2.5 hours)
- Increasing mould usage to as many as 3 mould turns per production
shift
- More quickly transferring heat through the steel mould to
the concrete versus hot air systems
Available Curing Systems
Concrete pipe, culvert and manhole
products can be cured
with Kraft Energy™’s entire line of Vapor
Curing Systems,
including the Quadrix™.
